About Us
Our Convictions
The principle of deliberate, vulnerable weakness, modelled by Jesus Christ (see e.g. Philippians 2) or the Apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 9:19-23), is applicable in poorer and wealthier societies, in places far away and around the corner.
In that, missionaries and development workers live in dependence on God. The worldviews of the people they encounter are shaped by their environment, traditions, and the languages through which they express their way of life. Learning local languages and sharing people’s living conditions as far as possible enables theology to be grasped afresh through local perspectives and ways of thinking.
In this way the gospel can become locally relevant. People can take responsibility for their church without falling into unhealthy dependence on external funding or foreign theologies.
