About Us

What we do
Together, we reflect on historical and contemporary mission practice. We aim to offer constructive critique and point out alternatives. On the one hand, we equip mission practitioners. On the other hand, we make contributions to missiological discourses. At the same time, several of us are actively involved themselves in various intercultural ministry contexts all around the world. In all of that, we try to cultivate a posture of humility and bold vulnerability to others that we make out in Jesus’ life and death. We understand mission as humble accompaniment, as and joining and affirming what God is already doing. We therefore seek to ‘be with’ people on a physical level but also on the level of language, ways of experiencing the world and ways of worshipping God in locally contextual ways.
The main focus of our constructive critique has been on Westerners working in majority world contexts, where Vulnerable Mission is expressed primarily in using only vernacular languages and locally available resources in certain ministry contexts.
